CardioVascular Solutions 2007

Cardiovascular disease is among the most prevalent of disease processes in the United States today. Most families have someone effected by heart disease, vascular disease, or both. Additionally, lung cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths in both males and females in the U.S. today. With this in mind, it is clear that research in these areas is very important. These diseases have regional differences in prevalence. In Middle Georgia there is more renal insufficiency than in the general population. Also, hypertension, a severe crippler, is associated with cardiovascular, thoracic, and peripheral vascular diseases prevalent in this area of the country. With this in mind, MCVI Research Foundation has been established to promote research in the area of cardiovascular and thoracic disease unique to this geographic location.
